Middle School Baseball

Middle School Baseball

In order to sustain a high level of baseball talent in the City of Atlanta, it is necessary to develop a pipeline of professionally developed student-athletes. In 2010 through a partnership with Atlanta Public Schools (APS), L.E.A.D. launched the District’s 1st inner city pilot middle school baseball program.

The Middle School Baseball Development League provides professional baseball development along with academic support to ensure that players understand the importance of being a student athlete; this puts them on track to become viable college prospects in the future.

With its official launch in 2011, focuses on developing middle school talent for competitive play and providing positive out of school time (OST) experiences for up to 90 middle school student-athletes at 6 Atlanta Public School Middle Schools. A four-month baseball development league that runs from February-May and provides professional baseball skill development by L.E.A.D. trained coaches. The league currently consists of 6 partner schools: B.E.S.T., Kennedy, King, Parks, Sylvan Hills & Young middle schools. (February – May)
